Coronavirus has bought communities together. Why not arrange a street party for your
neighbourhood once lockdown is over? Simply contact your local vintage furniture hire company and
have long wooden trestle tables delivered to the street in the morning and collected in the evening.
Everybody brings a sharing bowl or tray of food and a bottle.
German beer tables are lightweight and inexpensive to hire. They flat pack down, keeping
transportation costs reasonable. We love Caribbean style painted oil drums for using as bar tables.
Large glass jars filled with candles or long strings of LED lights are an effective and inexpensive way
to illuminate the party.
Music can be from Spotify on a phone via Bluetooth to a few of your neighbours’ speakers put on
the window sill. If it’s a hot afternoon, the kids will love a communal paddling pool or water hose.
Giant Jenga and Giant Monopoly may be available from your local furniture hire company, along
with ice-cream and sweet carts. Cheese carts are incredibly popular.
Don’t forget the vintage style bunting laced across the street in zig-zags. It’s the bunting which ties
everything together. Making memories doesn’t have to be complicated. Do it in vintage style.
